Indicative rates. These are the per-gram rates each shop publishes on its website. Jewellery prices usually add a making (workmanship) charge and 9% GST on top of the gold rate; investment-grade gold (bars) is GST-exempt. Buyback offers are made after the shop tests and weighs your gold, and can differ for damaged, hollow, stone-set or branded pieces. Confirm the rate with the shop before you go.

FAQ

What is the gold price in Singapore today?

As of 23 Oct 2026, 5:09 PM SGT: 916 gold sells for S$155.50–S$232.00 per gram across 8 Singapore sources (lowest: Minora Jewels); the highest published cash buyback is S$147.00/g (Minora Jewels). 999 gold sells for S$167.06–S$247.00 per gram across 8 Singapore sources (lowest: UOB (bank), 1 kg gold kilobar (999.9)); the highest published cash buyback is S$154.00/g (Best Gold Shop). International spot reference: S$165.44/g for pure gold.

What is the difference between the selling price and the buyback price?

The selling price is what a shop charges you per gram when you buy gold. The buyback price is what it pays you per gram when you sell. Buyback is always lower; the gap covers testing, refining and the shop's margin. Trade-in rates (old gold put towards a new piece) are usually between the two.

Why are jewellery gold prices higher than the spot price?

Spot is the international wholesale price of pure gold. Jewellers add their own margin and, for jewellery, a making charge and 9% GST. 916 gold is 91.6% pure, so its metal value is 0.916 times the pure-gold price.

How often are these gold rates updated?

We check every shop's published rate several times a day and show each shop's own timestamp. Gold moves during trading hours, so always confirm in store.

How these rates are collected

Last checked 23 Oct 2026, 5:09 PM SGT. We read the rates that 9 Singapore sources publish on their own websites (Mustafa Jewellery, Maxi-Cash, Starlight Jewellery, Best Gold Shop, Minora Jewels, ValueMax, Goldheart, Poh Heng Jewellery, UOB (bank)) and copy each number as shown, keeping the shop's own timestamp where it gives one. Selling prices, cash buyback rates and trade-in rates are kept separate and never mixed. Each value is checked against the international spot price; implausible numbers are dropped, never guessed. Full methodology.
